Cleaning my brain

I cleaned my room! Like a child, but I am trapped in this 63-year-old body. But I digress. It has been a couple of months since my last blog, updating the progress of my new book. Without much fanfare, (more on that in a future blog), I released it on May 5th, “The Blue War,” the conclusion to the Quest of the Blue Murder. Completing it became quite a chore, which I did not want to pursue in my semi-retirement.

I had committed to a year to complete The Blue War. I did it in 13 months. I procrastinated; I could have finished it on time, but I allowed my Portuguese language class to begin. This severely disrupted my life. This is necessary for my application for residence in my newly adopted country. The timing of it became crushing. I needed about 50 pages to tie up the tendrils of 850 pages of fantasy stories. Writing those final pages was more emotional than I had planned. I said goodbye to my ‘friends’ that I had created to help me get through the Covid lockdown. Not everyone survived the ordeal. Their sacrifice allowed my creative mental health to thrive.

So, back to the first statement. I started a cover to help inspire my next project when language class is over in 6 weeks:  The Five Captains of Atlantis. During my art career, when I finished a ceramic project, I would clean my studio to make room for the next chaos of creation. So today, I cleaned my office.
